Let us go early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine has flowered, if its blossoms have opened, if the pomegranates are in bloom. There I will give my love to you.

I had recently purchased a Melissa Shirley design of two pomegranates painted on 14-count monocanvas. In order to illustrate the chosen verse, I needed to add a bud and blossom. Artist and Pomegranate member Sandra Gilmore painted them on my canvas, and added the border as well.
I needlepointed the canvas using the following stitches: tent stitch, beetle stitch, diamond stitch, upright cross stitch, long stitch, satin stitch, laying and couching and French knots. For the background I used the T-stitch.
The following threads were used: cotton floss, rayon floss, overdyed floss, perle cotton, metallic braid, Accentuate, Frosty Rays, Fuzzy Stuff, Water N’Ice, and Watercolors. I worked on this canvas for four months.
