The Orange County Chapter recently hosted its second annual "Pomegranate Blooms." From all accounts, it was a great success.

Three different projects were offered: Anne Cheek La Rose taught a pomegranate applique; Doris Michael instructed a Hebrew alphabet bellpull sampler with a variety of stitches; and Mona Doshay lead a class in Misrach collage-making.

TWELVE TRIBES POMEGRANATE
designed and stitched by Anne Cheek La Rose

A limited quantity of the kits for this project are on sale. The stylized silk fuchsia pomegranate is slightly padded. On the surface of the pomegranate are sewn twelve sets of beads each representing one of the twelve tribes. Each set of beads has been specifically chosen for a particular tribe. Gold is used to accent the beads and outline the pomegranate. This design was included in Anne Cheek La Rose's Hillel Gallery exhibit in September 2001. Finished size: 16 by 20 inches.

Kit includes fabric, beads, gold braid, needles, $25 plus $2 shipping.
